Spokespeople for the Earth

It's now day five of the AIUYF. Since Monday, the 57 AIUYF participants have been taking part in sustainability leadership training, developed and delivered by award winning Melbourne based organisation "Vox Bandicoot". Frank Ryan and Dave Segnoir from Vox Bandicoot work with community groups, students, and Australia's top corporate organisations to inspire people to take steps to live in a more sustainable way, and to inspire people to become what they call 'official spokespeople for the Earth'. For the last three days, the AIUYF participants have been involved in a series of interactive and challenging workshops and activities. There have been some very interesting debates among the students, and some of the significant differences in the way Australians and Indians live have been discussed and shared. Today, the students are writing an Australia India Youth Protocol, which will be shared at the Australian Association for Environmental Education Conference in Darwin next week, and will also be made available on this blog.
